Renowned doctor, Dr. Oz, approves and strongly encourages Reiki healing to many clients, especially to anyone who is sincere in pursuing a more holistic and healthier body and life. He has also shared his opinions on the future of Reiki in energy and medical work decades ago, “We are embarking on this whole new vista of opportunities. It broadens dramatically the spectrum of where we might be able to go in our bodies.” His wife, Lisa Oz is a Reiki Master Teacher and has spoken about the increasing popularity of Reiki especially in the United States, “The next wave of medical advances will be when we come to recognize the body as an energetic system.”

Medical expert, Dr. Stephen Devries, author of “What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Cholesterol” mentioned, ”Massage, meditation and Reiki, a type of energy healing, can also reduce the stress that can lead to heart disease.”

Outside of the medical community, news articles are sprouting on how celebrities such as Mel B., of the Spice Girls, has a regular Reiki self-practice to keep her energy going strong. “For a long time we were managing ourselves, which kept us grounded, but was very tiring, I think the fact that I coped proved Reiki practice worked for me – I had the energy to keep on going.”

During the September 11 Twin Tower attacks in 2001, many holistic healing practitioners including Reiki Masters, were deployed and requested to be on-site at Ground Zero to voluntarily give holistic healing and Reiki treatments to the injured victims, firefighters, policemen etc. to better support the public workers and people in their physical, mental and emotional health. Many suffered from Post-Traumatic-Stress-Disorder (PTSD) even years after the incident. In 2020, the global pandemic involving COVID-19 had a similar situation across countries where medical workers, frontline and support staff, elderly and the vulnerable were extremely susceptible to the virus and many people, especially frontline staff, had PTSDs. Reiki healing and the Reiki practice proved to be an extremely valuable and supportive practice in these times, not only to improve the immunity of our physical bodies and mental health, the ability to provide distance healing treatments was encouraging to many practitioners in sending Reiki healing to their loved ones and to the needed globally, and empowering ourselves, knowing that we are not powerless, no matter the situation and geographic location.

There are available research data showing Reiki treatment can be effective for various benefits, including measurable benefits such as a slower heart rate and/or improved heart rate variability. Currently, under RKMRI, we are gathering support and donations to support a deeper and larger scale medical research under Dr Sheldon Marc Feldman M.D and Raven Keyes in the United States, with specialised focus on Breast Cancer treatment. Shin is currently the first and only certified Medical Reiki master in Singapore who has trained directly under Raven Keyes, under the Gold Standards Practices RKMRI in United States, New York and is listed under the Registry to be on request for surgical operations. She is also the first and only Reiki master in Singapore to have learnt from Pamela Miles directly in New York.

 

Please note that to provide Reiki during the surgery in the operating room, will require you to speak to your doctor and approval from the head surgeon in any country, otherwise typically patients also opt for Reiki to be provided at distance, during their surgeries. Pre-surgery and post-surgery Reiki sessions are also available on request, to better support an accelerated healing curve.
